Jeremiah 11:21–23
Therefore this is what the LORD says concerning the people of Anathoth who are seeking your life and saying, “You must not prophesy in the name of the LORD, or you will die by our hand.” / So this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “I will punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and daughters by famine. / There will be no remnant, for I will bring disaster on the people of Anathoth in the year of their punishment.”
Jeremiah 18:18–23
Then some said, “Come, let us make plans against Jeremiah, for the law will never be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the wise, nor an oracle to the prophet. Come, let us denounce him and pay no heed to any of his words.” / Attend to me, O LORD. Hear what my accusers are saying! / Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before You to speak good on their behalf, to turn Your wrath from them.
